Alsea Bay Bridge, Waldport, Oregon

ALSEA BAY BRIDGE

This bay was originally spanned by a bridge designed by Oregon's famous bridge designer Conde McCullough. The harsh marine conditions caused that bridge to deteriorate and this new bridge replaced the original in 1991.

It is 2910 feet long (887m) with the center steel arch 450 spanning 450 ft (137m).

Astoria-Megler Bridge

ASTORIA-MEGLER BRIDGE

4.1 Mile total length (6.6 km), main span of 1232 ft (375.5m) This is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America, 2nd in world.

Opened in 1966, orignally as a toll bridge, now free.

Featured prominently in the background in the movie "Short Circuit."

A modern concrete deck bridge with an elegant sweeping curve as it crosses the Nehalem River in Tillamook County Oregon.

Siuslaw River Bridge

SIUSLAW RIVER BRIDGE

One of Conde McCullough's bridges, this is a bascule lift bridge over the Siuslaw River. It was completed in 1936 in the Art Deco style.
